The Södra Länken tunnel, connecting Essingeleden with Värmdöleden, spans six kilometers, of which 4.5 kilometers are excavated in solid rock. Started in 1998 and opened to traffic in 2004, this tunnel is a feat of modern engineering, designed to alleviate traffic in central Stockholm and its southern suburbs. The project has not only transformed the urban landscape, converting Årstafältet into a large car-free park, but has also reduced traffic on Huddingevägen by 75%.

Delvallebox's involvement has been crucial to the project's success. Their IP66-rated enclosures and corrosion-certified cabinets are recognized for their durability and resilience, ensuring the protection and organization of vital equipment in extreme underground conditions. These enclosures, custom-designed for each location in the tunnel, whether for lighting or other services, meet the strict safety and operability requirements of the tunnel, once again demonstrating Delvallebox's ability to tackle complex challenges with innovative solutions.
