Frankfurt airport is the largest airport in Germany and serves as a hub for international flights from all over the world. It occupies an area of 21 km² and has a capacity of about 70 million passengers per year.

To ease congestion and provide an agile service for passenger mobility, it was decided that a system called Airval be implemented (trains operate at Frankfurt airport at two-minute intervals, 24 hours a day and seven days a week); a fully automated passenger transport solution that runs on rubber tyres and uses a central lane guidance system. It offers high performance with short headways and is equipped with an energy management system that ensures high operational efficiency.

SOLUTION APPORTÉE PAR L’ÉQUIPE D’INGÉNIEURS DELVALLE

System Airval at peak passenger traffic periods, these trains can carry over 4.000 people per hour in each direction. In order to provide a reliable solution, at Delvalle we worked together with the engineers to ensure that the electrical cabinets that house the installation could withstand heavy workloads and not suffer wear and tear, together with a working space that is suitable for the automation systems they house. Our stainless steel wall enclosure Luxor Series has all the relevant approvals for this type of installation.
