Refinery and Petrochemical Plant of Grangemouth (Scotland)

The Grangemouth Refinery and Petrochemical Plant is a complex located in the Firth of Forth in Grangemouth, Scotland.

This is the only operating crude oil refinery in Scotland and currently one of the six remaining refineries in the United Kingdom.

The Grangemouth refinery, with its numerous gas flares and cooling towers, is visible from a great distance; adjacent to it is the petrochemical plant. The plant has a capacity to process 210,000 barrels (33,000 m³) of crude oil per day and employs around 650 employees and 500 additional contractors.

PROPOSED SOLUTION BY DELVALLE

The task involves supplying weatherproof enclosures and corrosion-resistant Atex terminal boxes for the power supply of the petrochemical complex.

To ensure perfect operation for as long as possible, with all the guarantees, we conducted a comprehensive study and provided a solution that includes a selection of 30 enclosures: 19'' exterior rack enclosures from the Storm Series, painted with specially anti-corrosive paint, modular enclosures from the Titan Series and solar installation enclosures from the Sunbox Series, all made of AISI 316L stainless steel, with IP66 protection (against dust, moisture, and water jets).

Furthermore, as part of the project development, 12 stainless steel terminal boxes with Atex actuators from the Contrex Series were included for installation. These terminal boxes stand out for their robustness, tightness, and resistance to corrosion in explosive atmospheres classified as zones 1, 2, 21, and 22.
