The Iberdrola group will build its second major wind power project in the Baltic Sea (Baltic Eagle). Located 30 kilometers northeast of the island of Rügen, off the coast of Pomerania (Germany) this new 476 megawatt (MW) facility will supply renewable energy to 475.000 households.
The offshore substation the central hub whose function is to collect the electricity produced by the wind turbines and transform the voltage from 66 kV to 220 kV.
This installation poses many challenges that we must solve, as it is an area of high effort to subject the electrical cabinets to strong currents of air and salinity of the sea, also wanted to be accessible quickly with locks and hinges. The cabinets chosen are Luxor Series wall-mounted cabinets made of AISI 316L stainless steel.
