Conversion from Gas to Combined Cycle Plant

The power plant in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) has been converted from gas-fired (simple cycle) to combined cycle; its conversion was decided at the end of 2019, with which it was determined to increase the plant's efficiency and improve its production through this modification.

Given the location of the power plant near the coast, all equipment must be protected against marine corrosion. In addition, the structural design must comply with the American Nema UL Type 1, 3r, 4x,12 standards, which requires a sophisticated and highly watertight technological system.

After assessing the requirements and studying the location (marine environment), as specialists in customised enclosure manufacturing, we carried out a complete study and provided as a solution a selection of various enclosures: Tribeca Series compact electrical cabinets and Storm Series 19'' outdoor rack cabinets painted with specially anti-corrosive paint with an improved and robust design, made of AISI 316L marine stainless steel with IP66 water and dust tightness.
