The Barcelona Europe South Terminal (BEST), has 13 cranes (ship to shore), with 24 positions and a height of 47 meters with the possibility of growing another 5 meters, in this way, it is possible to serve three mega-ships of 23.000 containers simultaneously. In addition, these cranes use regeneration technology in the engines, making “BEST” one of the most efficient terminals from an environmental point of view.
The project consisted of the elevation of three of the cranes 5 meters; a considerable achievement, due to the fact that the cranes were fully welded and there was no connection. To achieve the objective, we provide as solution 55 units of our junction boxes customized, Luxor Series made of AISI 316L stainless steel with IP67 for corrosive environment in seaports.
